Accreditations
Working with Children Checks
All accreditations require the member to have and maintain a current Working with Children Check (or State equivalent) for the duration. Unless you already have one, we highly recommend you apply for a WWCC before or as you sign up for an Umpire Course. Accreditations will not be processed until the WWCC has been received by your State body.
Association Umpire

Attend an Association Umpire Course
-
Pass a written exam
-
Be a registered member of an affiliated club/association, an affiliated State/Territory Association or TTA
-
Hold a current Working with Children Check (or State equivalent)
State Umpire
-
Attend a State Umpire Course
-
Pass a written exam
-
Pass an oral exam
-
Complete 10 hours of unsupervised umpiring at a Tournament / Competition
-
Be Mentored for a minimum of 4 tournament matches
-
Be a registered member of an affiliated club/association, an affiliated State/Territory Association or TTA
-
Hold a current Working with Children Check (or State equivalent)
National Umpire
-
Complete 2 years of being a State Umpire
-
Attend a National Umpire Course
-
Pass a written exam
-
Pass an oral exam
-
Be assessed by umpiring in a minimum of 6 matches containing a variety of conditions (i.e. singles, doubles, finals, etc.) at National or International tournaments or such other tournaments as authorised by the TTA URC or by a TTA URC-appointed assessor.

Be a registered member of an affiliated club/association, an affiliated State/Territory Association or TTA

Hold a current Working with Children Check (or State equivalent)
International Umpire

Have been an active National Umpire at tournaments for a minimum of 2 years.

Pass the ITTF International Umpires Exam (conducted every two years)

Be a registered member of an affiliated club/association, an affiliated State/Territory Association or TTA
State Referee
-
Must hold a State or National Umpire Accreditation
-
Attend a State Referees Course
-
Pass a written exam
-
Be a registered member of an affiliated club/association, an affiliated State/Territory Association or TTA
-
Hold a current Working with Children Check (or State equivalent)
National Referee
-
Must hold a National or International Umpire Accreditation
-
Attend a National Referees Course
-
Pass a written exam
-
Be assessed at a National / Higher Level Tournament

Be a registered member of an affiliated club/association, an affiliated State/Territory Association or TTA
-
Hold a current Working with Children Check (or State equivalent)
International Referee
-
Qualified International Umpire for at least 2 years
-
Passing the ITTF Advanced Rules Exam in the previous three years
-
Qualified National Referee for at least 2 years.

Proven referee experience in three national Championships (with at least one as a referee) or two international events in the past four years
-
Competence in English.

Attend ITTF International Referee Course (“IR School”) and pass written, practical and oral exams.

Be a registered member of an affiliated club/association, an affiliated State/Territory Association or TTA
Course and Exams
Courses for Association, State and National Umpires, and State and National Referees are run by the State / Territory Associations. Contact your local State / Territory Association for details on when the next Umpires or Referees courses will be held.
Exams for International Umpires are offered by ITTF every 2 years (even-numbered years). Contact your local State / Territory Association to register your interest in sitting the exam. Courses for International Referees (“IR School”) are run by ITTF from time to time. Contact your local State / Territory Association to register your interest in attending the course.
