Updated National Selection Policy
Published Thu 03 Dec 2020
The National Selection Policy is required to be reviewed on an annual basis. An updated version of the National Selection Policy was approved at the TTA Board Meeting held on 3 December 2020, which can be viewed by clicking here.
A summary of the changes are:
- Provision for someone who is not an Australian citizen or permanent resident to be included in the National Squad, on the proviso they are being supported through the TTA Migration Support Policy. This will assist with the integration process for players who are being supported through the TTA Migration Support Policy.
- An Athlete Categorisation Matrix has been included for Able-Bodied. This ensures consistency with Para. Subsequently, references to the Matrix have been included throughout the document.
- Provision for someone to be selected into the National Team without needing to be in the National Squad, only under extenuating circumstances. Although this would very seldom be used, it provides the National Selection Panel with flexibility as required.
