TTA Staffing Update
Published Mon 09 Oct 2017
As part of broader financial, operational and administrative reforms that are currently taking place, there have been some recent changes within the TTA staff. This has resulted in three loyal, hard working and high achieving team members finishing their time with TTA. Unfortunately the positions of Roger Massie (National Para Pathways Manager), Ryan Wiegand (National Events Manager), and Ross Solly (Media Liaison Officer) have been made redundant.
Roger has worked tirelessly alongside Alois Rosario over the last 9 years to develop the National Para Program into what it is today. As the National Para Head Coach, Roger played an integral role in helping Sam von Einem achieve a silver medal at the Rio Paralympic Games. In 2017 Roger took on the important role of National Para Pathway Manager and dedicated himself to identifying the next wave of talented athletes to join our Para Table Tennis Program. Roger's last day with TTA will be 1st November and then he will continue on his work in the Para space in his home state with the Tasmania Table Tennis Association.
Ryan joined TTA in 2015 as the National Event Manager and has been responsible for the successful organisation of all of the National HP and Para HP Camps, the attendance of our Australian Teams at international events, the organisation of TTA workshops and annual AGM, as well as having acted as the Tournament Director at many National and International Events here in Australia. Ryan’s attention to detail contributed to his success in his role and both the HP and Para HP program staff and athletes are very grateful for all of Ryan’s hard work and dedication. Ryan's last day with TTA will be 27th October.
Ross has played an important role in providing media coverage at countless National Events over many years. He provided website and social media content, player interviews and expanded the reach of table tennis with his engaging style. Ross also earned the trust of the players by working with them to build their exposure.
We thank Roger, Ryan and Ross for their stellar contribution to TTA and wish them all the best for the next stage of their careers.
