TTA Board Meeting Key Outcomes Summary - January 2021
Published Sat 27 Feb 2021
The TTA Board provides a key outcomes summary after each Board Meeting to ensure that all stakeholders are informed about TTA developments and to offer openness and transparency.
The following key outcomes arose from the TTA Board Meeting held on 28 January 2021:
- The Minutes from the 3 December 2020 Board Meeting were approved.
- The December 2020 Financial Report was approved.
- The Audit Plan for the 2020 Financial Audit was approved, thereby enabling the 2020 Financial Audit to commence.
- The establishment of the TTA Tour was approved. The announcement about the launch of the TTA Tour can be viewed by clicking here.
- It was acknowledged that 2021 marks the 50-year anniversary of the 1971 ‘Ping Pong Diplomacy’ Tour, where a group of Australians travelled to China for training and competitions in what was a historic event. There was agreement that wherever practicable, an equivalent opportunity should be sourced this year. Work will now commence to identify opportunities and if deemed feasible, implement them.
- The proposed 2021 State/Territory Meeting Schedule was approved to be distributed to State/Territory Associations. Six meetings (online and in person) will be held throughout 2021.
- Adelaide was approved as the location of the 2021 TTA AGM, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday 24 April 2021.
- It was noted that Tom Boyd and Joy Boyd received OAM’s for their services to table tennis as part of the 2021 Australia Day Honours. Subsequently, a congratulatory message was provided.
