TTA Board and Sub-Committee Appointments Update

TTA is pleased to announce that Karen Zhang has been re-appointed as an Appointed Director on the TTA Board for two years, with her tenure being extended until November 2023. Karen originally joined the TTA Board in February 2020 and has been a valuable contributor over the past 18 months.

TTA President Graham Symons was pleased to secure Karen’s ongoing involvement, commenting “Karen brings a vital skill set in digital marketing and communications and as a result of her age and cultural background, is able to bring an important diversity in perspective to Board decision making”.

Karen was equally pleased, commenting “I am thrilled to be re-appointed for an additional term on the TTA Board, and continue to drive impact on the strategic focus areas of our sport. Despite COVID-19 impacting a number of key growth initiatives originally set out by TTA over the past two years, as has been the case for many other sports, TTA has done well to navigate through and continue to perform on both national and international fronts.

“With vaccination rates increasing and sports returning to normal operations, it is with great excitement to see what the next two years holds for TTA as we move into a growth phase of the organisation, and take more proactive steps, particularly in the areas of uplifting participation across broader demographics, and raising the public profile of TTA through embracing areas of technology and digital”.

Meanwhile, TTA Board Member Anthony Moore has been appointed as Chairperson of the TTA Nominations & Remuneration Committee. Anthony replaces fellow TTA Board Member Leeanne Grantham as Chairperson of the Committee. Leeanne needed to stand down from the Committee to ensure compliance with the Committee Charter given she is up for re-election on the TTA Board at the 2022 TTA AGM.

The re-appointment of Karen and the appointment of Anthony were both approved at the TTA Board meeting held on 3 November 2021.
