TTA Announces Partnership with Proud 2 Play
Published Mon 10 Aug 2020
Table Tennis Australia is proud to announce a new partnership with Proud 2 Play as part of the Table Tennis Corporate Cup which underpins TTA’s commitment to providing an inclusive environment across all programs.
The focus of the partnership is to increase the engagement of LGBTQI+ people with table tennis.
Patrick Wuertz, Program Manager of the Table Tennis Corporate Cup says: “We are excited to work with and learn from the team from Proud 2 Play to provide a safe and inclusive environment in which LGBTQI+ people feel welcomed. There is a strong synergy between TTA's and Proud 2 Play’s strategic goals including the aim to provide safe opportunities for all Australians to be physically active. Proud 2 Play will be able to connect us to new markets and help us stay a truly inclusive sport.”
Luke Major, Partnerships Manager at Proud 2 Play, says, “Proud 2 Play is looking forward to working with TTA on their Corporate Cup program and think it is a refreshing adaptation on a sport with a strong focus on health and wellbeing that people will respond really positively to. We hope that our diverse communities can see the efforts of TTA in making their sport inclusive and accessible to everyone.”
The partnership will see Proud 2 Play supporting the Corporate Cup events with awareness campaigns around the LGBTI+ community, education and input on the corporate cup events and communication and collaboration in future funding opportunities.
