SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS ANNOUNCED – EQUIPMENT & FACILITIES GRANT PROGRAM

TTA is pleased to announce the Equipment and Facilities Grants Program recipients have been determined for 2019. Building on the success of last year, an exceptionally competitive grant round saw 26 applications received including a strong mix of metropolitan and regional clubs/associations from across the country.
Almost $82,000 worth of equipment and facilities will now be injected into table tennis projects across 18 clubs/associations, which takes into consideration both the TTA contribution and at least 50% matched funding from each club/association.
Congratulations to Albury Wodonga TTA (VIC), Coffs Harbour Over 50’s (NSW), Coffs TTC (NSW), Geographe Bay TTC (WA), Northern Suburbs TTL (TAS), Bellarine Keen-Agers TTC (VIC), Jamestown TTA (SA), Toowoomba TTA (QLD), Port Macquarie TTC (NSW) Adelaide TTC (SA), Southern TTA (SA), Northern Tasmania TTA (TAS), Moreton Bay TTA (QLD), Mornington Peninsula TTA (VIC), South Australia TT Officiating Council (SA), University of Queensland TTC (UQ), Bundaberg TTA (QLD), Warrnambool TTA (VIC).
All successful applicants were able to demonstrate that their project will lead to an increase in participation, development of the sport, increased sustainability of the sport in their local area, clearly identify the benefits on offer, represent good value for money and generate a strong return on investment.
Congratulations to the successful applicants for 2019 (in alphabetical order):
- Adelaide Table Tennis Club (SA): Replace fluorescent lighting with LED lighting, to reduce power costs and help maintain low fees, to attract and retain players.
- Albury Wodonga Table Tennis Association (VIC): New competition table and quality bats to support the club’s growing junior program and development.
- Bellarine Keen-Agers Table Tennis Club (VIC): Supply and installation of court dividing netting, to address player injury and safety concerns of existing barriers.
- Bundaberg & District Table Tennis Association (QLD): New signage to raise awareness of the club venue and increase membership & program enquiries.
- Coffs Over 50’s Table Tennis Club (NSW): New tables to support increased membership, participation and continued inter-club competitions.
- Coffs Table Tennis Club (NSW): Replacement of old and damaged equipment with three new tables, to help develop participation and new competition formats.
- Geographe Bay Table Tennis Club (WA): New robot machine and uniforms to support the clubs growing Smash Hit Juniors program.
- Jamestown Table Tennis Association (SA): Upgrade of club venue lighting to LED lighting, to significantly lower energy costs and enable future hosting of national standard competition and events.
- Moreton Bay Table Tennis Association (QLD): New tables to ensure quality equipment, and the retention & growth of club membership across all age groups.
- Mornington Peninsula Table Tennis Association (VIC): Replace existing 30+ year old unstable / beyond repair barriers with 75 new barriers, to help attract and retain more All Abilities players, females, seniors (“Keenagers”) and members.
- Northern Suburbs Table Tennis League (TAS): Replacement robot machine and video camera & equipment, to enhance player coaching, monitoring & feedback
- Northern Tasmania Table Tennis Association (TAS): Professional grade ball machine to assist club coaching & development, as well as beginner & intermediate bats to enhance come and try & school programs.
- Port Macquarie Table Tennis Club (NSW): New bats, balls and a filtered water system, to enhance participation and the overall playing experience.
- Southern Table Tennis Inc (SA): Updated equipment & resources to deliver Sporting Schools programs including bats, balls, coach polo tops, pull-up banner & brochures.
- Toowoomba Table Tennis Association (QLD): Delivery & installation of a defibrillator to provide a safe environment for all members.
- UQ Table Tennis (QLD): Tables, nets & court surrounds to support new membership events to attract more students, community groups and the general public.
- Warrnambool Table Tennis Association (VIC): Redevelop the club’s kitchen / canteen facilities to enhance the visual appeal, enable preparation of food to regulatory standards, and support potential increases in participation and membership.

TTA was delighted with the response to the program once again this year and we look forward to growing the program further and supporting more local initiatives in 2020 and beyond.
