Ms Stevenson and Mr Rosario, shared insights into the leadership strategies, team dynamics, and evolving methodologies that have contributed to the success of the world-class Australian Para-Table Tennis team.

Para-Table Tennis won their first Paralympic medal in 32 years at the 2016 games in Rio, since then the program has gone on to win 11 medals across the Tokyo and Paris Paralympic Campaigns, including four Gold.

Establishing effective performance teams, an openness to continually challenge thinking and the fostering of strong partnerships have all played a significant role in the team’s success. Looking ahead to LA 2028 and beyond, Stevenson and Rosario, discussed the long-term goals for their team, insight into their coaching succession plan, and maintaining a focus on sustainability in high-performance sports, ensuring that the Para-table tennis movement continues to grow in both visibility and impact.

“We were honoured to be invited to speak at this prestigious forum,” said Ms Stevenson, General Manager - National Paralympic Program, Table Tennis Australia. “The world of high-performance teams is one that requires constant evolution, and the principles we discuss on leadership and team dynamics are just as crucial in the Paralympic context as they are in any elite sport. Our team’s success is a testament to the strength, resilience, and dedication of our athletes, coaches and support staff, and we were excited to share our experiences with others who are committed to advancing the world of sport and para-sport.”

The forum brings together experts, coaches, athletes, and sports professionals to discuss the principles of high performance, leadership, and innovation in elite sports.
