National Events Manager Appointed

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Wiegand as its new National Events Manager. This key role will play a critical part in shaping and delivering TTA’s national event strategy, enhancing the growth of the sport and ensuring the success of competitions across the country.
Ryan brings a wealth of experience in event management and a deep passion for table tennis. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Business with majors in Event and Sport Management and over the course of his career, has worked with various sports organisations, including the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), ITTF Oceania, World Table Tennis (WTT), Volleyball Australia and TTA previously; successfully delivering large-scale events and creating memorable experiences for athletes, supporters, and partners alike.
“I am excited to return to Table Tennis Australia in the role of National Events Manager and to contribute to the growth and success of the sport,” said Ryan Wiegand. “Table tennis has been a significant part of my career, and I look forward to working with the team to deliver exceptional events that inspire players, clubs, and supporters nationwide. Together, we will elevate the profile of our national and international events, foster greater participation, and showcase the very best of table tennis in Australia.”
In his new role, Ryan will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of all major national events, including the National Championships, international tournaments hosted by TTA, and other grassroots initiatives aimed at increasing participation in the sport. Ryan will also work closely with local clubs, athletes, and key stakeholders to ensure a seamless event experience and elevate the profile of table tennis in Australia.

Ryan will begin in his new role effective 6th January 2025.
