National Head Coach – Able-Bodied John Murphy visited Table Tennis South Australia (TTSA) for five days last week to attend the South Australian State Hopes Camp, State high performance sessions and to work with members of the National Squad.

The two day State Hopes Camp and Challenge was attended by 18 under-12 players and was a good display of the young talent currently developing in South Australia. The high performance sessions were also well attended and Murphy was pleased to have the opportunity to work with athletes and coaches from different levels of the table tennis pathway programs.

“South Australia has some great up and coming talent and it will be a pleasure to watch and help in their continued development,” he said.

“Some of the athletes involved at the State Hopes Camp will now be looking forward to the National Hopes Week & Challenge in Melbourne on April 12-16 where they will have the opportunity to potentially be selected for the National Hopes Squad.”

During his visit, Murphy also had a chance to work individually with National Squad members Hannah Goh and Isaiah Lee and Paralympian Sam Von Einem.

“Being able to work one-on-one with Hannah, Isaiah and Sam was great. It allowed me to get to know them and their playing styles better,” Murphy said.

“I look forward to continuing my work with Hanna, Isaiah and Sam over the coming months and years.”
