Jens Lang Appointed National Program Manager (Able-Bodied)
Published Tue 21 Jun 2022
TTA is pleased to announce that Jens Lang has been appointed to the newly created position of National Program Manager (Able-Bodied).
TTA received a high volume of very strong applications for the role, however Jens was the clear standout.
Jens has a long association in table tennis, first as a high level player in his native Germany and then in many other roles as an employee. Jens previously worked for TTA as High Performance Manager/National Head Coach for five years from 2011-2016, with key highlights during his tenure including securing two medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and earning increased AIS funding. Jens also served as the Table Tennis Competition Manager at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and more recently has been operating his own business.
Upon signing Lang to the role, TTA CEO Scott Houston commented, “I am pleased to welcome Jens back to TTA at an exciting time for our Able-Bodied program. We have a fantastic crop of youngsters coming through and we are well placed ahead of the upcoming Commonwealth Games. We are ready to take our program to the next level and having someone of Jens’ background and experience will no doubt help us make the next step”.
Lang was equally pleased with the announcement, commenting “I’m thrilled to be joining the TTA team in these super exciting times. With once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games and Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games on the horizon, the timing could not be better to get to work on our Able-Bodied program and create structures that support our current and future athletes in their aspirations and their path to excellence”.
Jens will commence on 1 July 2022, right in time to hit the ground running at the upcoming 2022 National Championships.
Welcome back Jens!
