Graeme Ireland Honoured by ITTF-Oceania | Anthony Moore becomes ITTF-Oceania President
Published Mon 02 May 2022
The ITTF-Oceania AGM was held online on Saturday 30 April 2022. There were several key outcomes involving Australians, summarised as:
GRAEME IRELAND
TTA Hall of Famer Graeme Ireland retired from the ITTF-Oceania Management Committee after more than 20 years of dedicated and distinguished service.
Graeme has been a mainstay of Oceania table tennis since the 1990’s. As an administrator, most recently Graeme served as ITTF-Oceania President in a caretaker capacity, and prior to that Graeme served as an Oceania representative on the ITTF Board of Directors from 1999-2022. From an officiating perspective, Graeme has held key roles at nearly every Oceania event since 1993.
In honour of Graeme’s significant contribution, ITTF-Oceania awarded Graeme with Personal Honorary Membership at the AGM, which is the highest accolade that can be bestowed in Oceania table tennis.
Although Graeme has retired from the ITTF-Oceania Management Committee, he will not be lost to table tennis in the region as he will still be involved providing technical advice and assistance.
TTA congratulates Graeme for his service to table tennis throughout Oceania.
ANTHONY MOORE
TTA Board Member Anthony Moore was elected unopposed as the new ITTF-Oceania President, with his term set to run until the 2024 ITTF-Oceania AGM.
Upon being elected, Anthony commented, “I am deeply honoured and humbled to be elected President of ITTF-Oceania. In taking on this role, I am aware that this position only became vacant due to the untimely passing of Mr Anthony Ho last year.
“I want to recognise that I am indeed stepping into some very big shoes and I aim to continue Anthony’s great work as I lead the ITTF-Oceania Management Committee and represent the region.
“I firmly believe that together we can achieve great things for table tennis and I am looking forward to working with each Member Association to raise our game.”
TTA congratulates Anthony on his new role as ITTF-Oceania President.
SCOTT HOUSTON
TTA CEO Scott Houston was elected unopposed as an Oceania representative on the ITTF Board of Directors, which ensures he also remains on the ITTF-Oceania Management Committee. Scott has served on the ITTF-Oceania Management Committee since late 2018 and the ITTF Board of Directors since December 2021.
TTA congratulates Scott on his election.
TTA looks forward to continuing to be an active contributor to table tennis in Oceania and helping the region to continue to evolve and develop.
