Table Tennis Australia is proud to announce the establishment of a Veterans Advisory Committee.

The role of the Committee is to consider and make recommendations to TTA Senior Management in relation to matters pertaining to Veterans participation in Table Tennis in Australia. As per the terms of reference this includes:

  • Representing the needs of the Veterans Table Tennis community, addressing challenges and identifying solutions as appropriate.
  • Monitoring and making recommendations on grassroots participation of players aged over 30 years of age at club and association level.
  • Monitoring and making recommendations on competition matters as they pertain to the annual TTA Veterans National Championships.
  • Monitoring and making recommendations on all matters as it pertains to the representation of Australia at international Veterans Table Tennis events.
  • Monitoring and making recommendations on all matters as it pertains to Veterans National Rankings.
  • Collaboratively engage with internal and external stakeholders to help TTA continue to deliver programs and events which meet the needs of its Veterans community

The Veterans Advisory Committee consists of seven members, who will work together to identify challenges and develop actionable solutions, to better represent the needs of TTA’s Veterans community.

“We recognise the need to provide greater focus and support to our Veteran’s Table Tennis Community,” said Aaron Tuckfield, General Manager, Operations and Community. “This committee will help ensure we are better placed to meet their needs.”

The committee will hold its inaugural meeting later this month.
