Table Tennis Australia bids a fond farewell to National Coach, Hongbo Liang, who has been appointed as Oceania Development Officer for the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Oceania.

A member of staff with TTA for just over three years, Hongbo’s dedication, expertise and passion for the table tennis saw him working closely with TTA athletes and coaching at multiple events such as the World Junior Championships and a World Cup.

During his time with TTA, Hongbo was selected for the AIS Gen32 Scholarship Coach, where he played a key role in the growth and success of table tennis in Australia. Hongbo worked alongside with our National Head Coach to nurture and development the next generation of Australian Table Tennis talent, doing such a great job he assisted in positioning TTA to be able to receive a further AIS Gen32 Scholarship position in 2025.

“While his presence will be missed, we are incredibly proud of Hongbo’s achievements and excited for the next chapter of his career. We thank Hongbo for his outstanding service and commitment to Australian table tennis and wish him every success in his new role with the ITTF Oceania,” said Ms Nicole Adamson, TTA CEO.

Table Tennis Australia remains focused on its mission to continue growing the sport and developing players and are confident that Hongbo’s work at the ITTF Oceania will contribute to the continued global development of table tennis.
