Farewell Egon Loh
Published Tue 19 Jul 2022
Today marks the last day of Egon Loh's employment with Table Tennis Australia. Egon commenced in his role of National Manager - Participation and Development in August 2019. After three years in the role he is moving on to a community development role in local government.
On his departure, Egon said “It has been a fantastic journey, and the biggest memory for me was the friendships and connections that I have made over the last three years. I have really enjoyed engaging the Table Tennis community, and I am confident Table Tennis will continue to grow and flourish. Table Tennis is truly a sport for all, regardless of age, ability and gender, and I am glad that I have played a part in my role at Table Tennis Australia".
Some highlights from Egon's time at TTA include:
- Achieved the highest ever number of Sporting Schools participants (23,500) in 2020. National participation figures also hit a record in 168,560 in 2019.
- Launched the Spinneroos Sporting Schools program in 2020, and assisted the launch of the TTA entry level program (Spinneroos: Bounce into Table Tennis) in clubs and associations.
- Initiated monthly meetings with member states and territories, and established a closer and engaged relationship with TTA.
- Set up key partnerships with Special Olympics Australia, Deaf Sport Australia, Table Tennis New Zealand, ACHPER SA, Councils and sporting providers to support participation programs in schools and clubs.
Senior Manager - Participation and Development Program, Aaron Tuckfield, noted "Egon has been a valuable member of the TTA Participation and Development team. During uncertain times that have included in the impact of COVID-19 and the introduction of new staff, including myself, he has provided a constant source of stability for the team and clubs/associations around the country. His friendly personality and committed work ethic will be missed. On behalf of TTA I wish him all the best for the future".
