Day 1 Results - Stage 1 Australian Qualification Tournament for the 2020 Olympic Games

Day 1 of Stage 1 of the Australian Qualification Tournament for the 2020 Olympic Games has wrapped up at MSAC in Melbourne. Plenty of cracking matches were the order of the day.
In the Women's Singles, the top 3 seeds, consisting of Parleen Kaur, Stephanie Sang and Matilda Alexandersson went through the day undefeated and are in the box seat heading into day 2.
In Group 1 of the Men's Singles, Benjamin Gould was in red hot form, knocking off Finn Luu and Sam von Einem to remain undefeated. Luu and von Einem are sitting second and third.
In Group 2 of the Men's Singles, Nicholas Lum and Dominic Huang won all their matches and currently top the group. Bob Liang is third.
The competition is set to go up a notch tomorrow as the final placings are decided. Only the top 4 women and top 4 men will progress through to Stage 2, to be played at Croydon on 17-19 January 2020.
