Australian Athletes Secure 15 Medals in Darwin

The World Table Tennis Youth Contender event in Darwin wrapped up last night. More than 50 Aussie youngsters were in action across 10 events ranging from Under 11’s to Under 19’s. Our players performed very strong winning a total of 15 medals (1 gold, 3 silver and 11 bronze).
A summary of all Australian medal winners is:
- Under 19 Boys’ Singles: Silver – Hwan Bae (NSW), Bronze – Clarence Cheng (NSW)
- Under 19 Girls’ Singles: Bronze – Sanaya Buddhadasa (VIC)
- Under 17 Boys’ Singles: Bronze – Won Bae (NSW), Chulong Nie (NSW)
- Under 17 Girls’ Singles: Bronze – Connie Psihogios (VIC)
- Under 15 Boys’ Singles: Bronze – Jeffrey Guo (NSW), Chulong Nie (NSW)
- Under 13 Boys’ Singles: Gold – Atsuto Hideura (NSW), Silver – Steven So (SA), Bronze – Jethro Chen (WA), Leonard Piyachai (NSW)
- Under 11 Boys’ Singles: Silver – Lawrence Fan (SA), Bronze – Joshua Ding (VIC)
- Under 11 Girls’ Singles: Bronze – Kavyaa Madaan (VIC)
