Applications Open - 2020 Olympic Games Assistant Coach

TTA is now calling for applications for the role of Assistant Coach – Table Tennis for the 2020 Australian Olympic Team.
The role of Assistant Coach – Table Tennis is unique in that the successful applicant will be required to be actively engaged with the team from a coaching perspective in the lead up to and during the 2020 Olympic Games, but there is also a large administrative and operational component to the role.
Additional background information on the role of Assistant Coach – Table Tennis is:
- The successful applicant will be required to attend the ITTF-Oceania Olympic Qualification for Teams event (Mornington, Victoria, from 6-8 December 2019), the Australian Qualification Tournament (TBC, likely January 2020), the ITTF-Olympic Qualification Tournament for Singles/Mixed Doubles (TBC, likely April 2020).
- The successful applicant will be required to attend training camps/sessions (to be determined in conjunction with the TTA National Head Coach – Able-Bodied).
- The successful applicant will be required to attend the 2020 Olympic Games, to be held in Tokyo, Japan from 24 July-9 August (subject to Australia qualifying athletes for the event) and a pre-event training camp in Japan (TBC, July 2020).
- The successful applicant may be required to travel to other international competitions (to be determined in conjunction with the TTA National Head Coach – Able-Bodied).
- This is not a paid role, however travel and hospitality expenses will be covered and a per diem for travel days will be provided.
- The role is open to anyone to apply, however prior Olympic Games experience as a player/coach/manager, plus professional management experience will be highly regarded.
To apply for the role, please complete the 2020 Olympic Games Assistant Coach Application Form, and submit it together with a current CV to Scott Houston, TTA CEO at ceo@tabletennis.org.au. Applications close at 11.59pm AEST on Monday 12 August 2019.
SELECTION PROCESS
1) Applications will be assessed by the TTA CEO and TTA National Head Coach – Able-Bodied.
2) A recommendation will be put forward to the TTA Board for consideration.
3) Once approval has been obtained from the TTA Board, a recommendation will be put forward to the Australian Olympic Committee.
4) Once approval has been obtained from the Australian Olympic Committee, the successful applicant will be offered the role.
