2025 Paralympic-Program Coaching Appointments

Published Mon 21 Oct 2024

We are thrilled to announce the official coaching appointments for our 2025 Paralympic Program. These appointments reflect our commitment to athlete development and excellence in para-sports.

  • Alois Rosario will move from National Head Coach (Para) into the brand-new role of National Athlete & Coach Development Manager (Para). Alois will oversee setting up Para Hubs in collaboration with the States / Territories.
  • Maggie Meng will move from National Coach (Para) to take on the National Head Coach (Para) role.
  • George Logothetis will step into the National Coach (Para) role.

The 2025 coaching appointments are built on a two-year succession plan, which was a crucial part of our National Coach Development Strategy. This strategy, supported by funding from the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), involved creating and implementing individualised coach development plans.

The two-year plan emphasised nurturing the coaches by providing targeted development opportunities. Each coach followed a personalised development pathway, ensuring that their skills and competencies aligned with the high-performance standards required for the Paralympic program. This approach has ensured each of the coaches would be ready to step up into their new roles come 2025, fostering a smooth transition and continuity in the program.

The newly appointed coaches bring a wealth of experience, leadership, and passion to guide our para table tennis athletes toward continued success on the world stage. We are confident that under their guidance, our para-athletes will continue to achieve incredible milestones.

Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting new chapter!
