VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT TO SUPPORT 2021 NATIONAL HOPES WEEK & CHALLENGE
Published Thu 25 Mar 2021
Table Tennis Australia Ltd. (TTA) is pleased to announce that the Victorian Government, through the Significant Sporting Events Program, will support the 2021 National Hopes Week & Challenge, to be held at LOOPS Table Tennis in Melbourne from 12-16 April. This is a positive step forward for the event and will assist in showcasing the best young talents from around Australia.
TTA CEO Scott Houston was buoyed with the announcement. “The Victorian Government has a long history of supporting table tennis and national events in Victoria and we are grateful for their generous and ongoing contribution," he said.
“The National Hopes Program is a key priority area for TTA. We have seen ongoing growth in the Under 12’s area in recent years, which will no doubt assist in pushing up the playing standard in Australia in the future. TTA has made a concerted effort to work with State and Territory Associations to develop a Hopes pathway, with more than 130 players attending dedicated State/Territory Hopes programs so far this year. It’s great to see so many of these players have signed up for the 2021 National Hopes Week & Challenge and we’re on track for record entries again this year.”
Don’t forget, entries for the event close this Sunday 28 March. To enter, please click here.
