Nicholas Lum and Aditya Sareen Named on ITTF scholarship list

Australian athletes Nicholas Lum and Aditya Sareen have both been named in the 2023 “With the Future in Mind” scholarship list issued by the International Table Tennis Federation on Monday 19th June.
With the Future in Mind is a joint program of Olympic Solidarity (OS) and the ITTF. Since its inception it has been a core component of the Athletes Development Model, supporting athletes around the world in the pursuit of their Olympic Dream.
Amongst the three main scholarship categories listed below, Lum and Sareen appear in the Youth Athlete Development section.
- Paris 2004 - For players born in 2000 or before and now establishing themselves at senior international level.
- Youth Athlete Development - For players born between 2004 and 2010 who are enjoying notable success at WTT Contender tournaments and similar.
- Olympic Solidarity Youth Athlete Development – players born 2006 to 2011 who are makiing ther presence felt at international tournaments.
Scholarships under this program are aimed at paving the High Performance Pathway for selected athletes by enabling them to attend high quality training camps and compete at international tournaments. The educational component of the scholarship program provides up-to-date and highly applicable know-how to coaches and Member Associations via modern educational methods.
This is a well deserved achievement for both the athletes given their notable performances at the World Table Tennis Youth Contendor events; with Nicholas Lum as a singles quarter-finalist in under-19 Boysin 2022 in Linz, and Aditya Sareen a semi-finalist in Berlin and the runner up in Platja d'Aro in under-15 events.
