Job Advertisement - National Pathway Development Officer (Para)
Published Wed 11 Mar 2020
TTA is seeking the services of a highly skilled and motivated team player for the position of National Pathway Development Officer (Para). The role will report directly to the National Program Manager (Para) and working in close collaboration with the National Coach – Performance Pathway (Para). The National Pathway Development Officer (Para) will play a key role in establishing relationships, links and projects with Local and State/Territory Disability organisations, Rehabilitation Hospitals/Centres, State/Territory Associations and local clubs/associations, with the aim of creating sustainable Para table tennis pathways which will support talented people with a disability to initially enter into and then progress through the Para table tennis performance pathway.
The National Pathway Development Officer (Para) will be responsible for providing strategic advice and operational support to initially identify the gaps and potential opportunities at the entry point level, and then implement solutions to bridge these gaps. The role will also work collaboratively with Paralympics Australia Pathway and talent ID staff to facilitate talent transfer and talent ID strategies that link into the Para table tennis performance pathway.
This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to establish and support the entry point of the Para table tennis performance pathway and to expand the talent pool across all Classes. A demonstrated ability to maximise limited resources, a willingness to go above and beyond, exceptional time management skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of key stakeholders is essential.
A background in Para table tennis is not essential, however prior experience in sports administration, particularly in participation and/or development will be highly regarded.
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week), with a three-month probation period, offered initially as a 2-year contract, with the possibility of extension thereafter based on performance and funding.
