TTA Governance Rating Demonstrates Significant Improvement

TTA is pleased to advise that our Governance Rating following the most recent Sport Australia Annual Sports Performance Review has dramatically increased. TTA achieved a Governance Rating of 89% overall, which is our best ever rating and is a substantial improvement on the 65% rating from the previous review.

High Performance Agreements Locked in for Hobart, Canberra and Adelaide

TTA is pleased to announce the establishment of the next round of High Performance Agreements, this time in Hobart, Canberra and Adelaide. The programs have been established after agreements have been reached between TTA and Table Tennis Tasmania (TTT) , Table Tennis ACT (TTACT) and Table Tennis South Australia (TTSA).

The Table Tennis community is saddened to learn that former top Queensland player, Rebecca Hurst, passed away last Friday; at the age of 42.

Jeff Drew, 64, one of Western Australia’s greatest ever players, sadly passed away yesterday after battling illness in recent times.

Scott Edgecombe Moves on from TTA

Scott Edgecombe, the TTA National Participation and Development Coordinator, will move on from his role. Egon Loh has been appointed as his replacement.

TTA Hall of Fame Relaunched

TTA is pleased to announce that the TTA Hall of Fame has been relaunched and will now cover multiple areas including Athlete (Open), Athlete (Para), Athlete (Veterans), Coach, Referees and Umpires, Administrators, plus Legend of the TTA Hall of Fame.

MSAC to Host National Squad Training

TTA is pleased to announce that the National Squad training program will expand further. Starting in September 2019, TTA will open up an additional weekly session for National Squad Members, to be held at Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC).

Thank You TTA Governance Reform Working Group

At the TTA Board Meeting held on 25 July 2019, it was determined that the TTA Governance Reform Working Group (GRWG) is to be wound up. Although governance and oversight is and will continue to be a crucial element of TTA’s operations, the GRWG was charged with implementing a scope of works when it was formed in February 2018, which is now complete.

2019 ACT Open - $10,000 Prize Pool on Offer

The 2019 ACT Open will be played on 21-22 September 2019 in Canberra. Last year’s event attracted a high calibre field with many of the top Australian ranked players competing. This year is shaping up to be the same, especially considering a prize pool of $10,000 is available.
