No less than 5 premier events will be played at Brisbane Table Tennis Association in April 2020, with Table Tennis Australia Ltd. (TTA) / Table Tennis Queensland (TTQ) and ITTF-Oceania joining forces to showcase the best athletes, coaches and officials across a 3 week bonanza of table tennis. The events are supported by Brisbane City Council through it’s economic development board, Brisbane Marketing.
As per previous correspondence, TTA is considering being part of a formal bid to host the 2023 World Championships. With the preliminary expressions of interest phase now closed, ITTF have confirmed that four countries are in the running – Australia, Germany, Kuwait and South Africa.

The New Zealand Junior & Senior Open Championships finished up today in Christchurch. An Australian Development Team was in action throughout, cleaning up with a swag of 30 medals. For the absolute vast majority of players, the tournament was their first taste of international competition.
Two of the longest serving and hardest working volunteers in the Australian table tennis community, Bev and Brian James, are set to be honoured at the upcoming TTA Volunteer Awards Ceremony. The National Volunteer of the Year Award, which is the highest accolade that can bestowed upon a volunteer by TTA, will be known as the Bev and Brian James Trophy.

TTA is pleased to announce that the 2020 National Junior Championships will be held from 5-11 July in Mandurah, Western Australia, one hour south of Perth. The Mandurah Recreation Centre will be the host venue.
