Table Tennis Australia welcome the Brisbane 2032 update

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) welcomed the news overnight that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board (EB) will recommend the Brisbane proposal to host the 2032 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games to a vote of the IOC Members in Session in Tokyo next month. 

Anthony Moore Appointed Director Term Extended

TTA is pleased to announce that Anthony Moore has been re-appointed as an Appointed Director on the TTA Board for a further two years, with his tenure being extended until June 2023. Anthony originally joined the TTA Board in June 2020 on a one year term and the decision to extend his tenure was made at the 10 June 2021 Board Meeting.

TTA is pleased to advise that TTA Ratings Central Guidelines were approved at the 10 June 2021 TTA Board Meeting.

Illawarra grant recipients excited to enhance member experience

TTA received a record number of high-quality applications from clubs in every State and Territory for the 2021 Equipment and Facilities Grants Program. Over $114,000 worth of equipment and facilities will now be injected into table tennis projects across 13 clubs/associations from all over the country. 

Cancellation Notice: TTA Tour - Melbourne

With today’s announcement from the Victorian Government that the Victorian lockdown has been extended for at least another 7 days, this unfortunately means that the TTA Tour – Melbourne, scheduled to be held on 5-6 June, has been cancelled.

Karol Javor Posthumously Inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame

TTA is pleased to announce that Karol Javor has been posthumously inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame (Coaches). Upon arriving in Australia in 1957 until his passing in 1998, a span of 41 years, Karol Javor was arguably Australia’s most successful and influential coach and his record and legacy is unprecedented.

David Delpratt Inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame

TTA is pleased to announce that David Delpratt has been inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame (Referees & Umpires). David is one of Australia’s greatest ever Officials, enjoying a decorated career over more than 25 years.

Graeme Ireland Inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame

TTA is pleased to announce that Graeme Ireland has been inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame (Administrator) and (Referees & Umpires). Graeme is one of Australia’s longest serving and hardest working Administrators and Officials, enjoying a decorated career over more than 25 years.

Fran Keyhoe Posthumously Inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame

TTA is pleased to announce that Fran Keyhoe has been posthumously inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame (Referees & Umpires). Fran is widely regarded as one of the longest serving and hardest working Officials in Australian table tennis history. Fran was a dedicated servant of the game and officiated for more than 30 years until the time of her passing in 2008.

Call for Nominations - ITTF Executive Committee, ITTF Permanent Committees

TTA has received correspondence from the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) that nominations are now open for multiple ITTF positions, in particular the ITTF Executive Committee and several ITTF Permanent Committees. TTA encourages anyone from Australia who may be interested in nominating for a position to carefully read the requirements contained herein.

Volunteering still providing a social avenue after 50 years

This week is National Volunteer Week (NVW), the largest annual celebration of volunteers in Australia. Sports like table tennis wouldn’t continue to grow without the contribution of dedicated volunteers who selflessly give their time week in and week out to support the table tennis community.
