Historic day for Aussies in Slovenia

In a historic day for Australian table tennis, Min Hyung Jee and Yangzi Liu are guaranteed a medal in the Women's Doubles at the World Table Tennis Contender event in Slovenia, with the Aussies ousting Russia's Yana Noskova and Olga Vorobeva in a hard fought 3-2 win the quarter final. The medal is Australia's first at senior level in a World Table Tennis event.

Yangzi Liu capped off a remarkable run of form in Europe by winning gold in the Under 19 Girls Singles at the World Table Tennis Youth Contender event in Hungary overnight. The win is Liu’s third Under 19 Girls Singles gold medal in as many weeks after previously winning in Italy and Slovak Republic.
